Ukonwaba is a Xhosa word. It means "to be happy".
We chose collectively this name, because for us to photograph is like to play. It's a fun playful activity. Besides, we aims for teens to be teens and strengthen their self-confidence, self-esteen and hope through playing and being happy.
We believe that the developments of play activities and art, as a tool of self-expression, are a crucial part for youth empowerment.
